Pneumatic Compression Therapy
Pneumatic Compression Therapy
Pneumatic compression therapy is a clinically proven treatment that uses a medical grade pneumatic compression device to improve both blood and lymphatic circulation. The sophisticated pneumatic compression device is able to deliver different compression levels at different points of the arm or leg in such a way that it facilitates the body’s own lymphatic and venous blood return towards the heart. The therapist customises the treatment and chooses the appropriate treatment mode, the pressure, and the pressure gradient depending upon your individual condition and tolerance.
Benefits of Pneumatic Compression Therapy
Beneficial in many conditions such as achy and tired legs due to insufficient muscle pump, softening fibrosis, venous insufficiency, assist with post-surgical recovery, lymphoedema, lipoedema and cellulite.
At our clinic we use the best equipment in its class. The machine is capable of delivering different therapy modes such as pre therapy, therapy, and post therapy depending upon the therapeutic goals. The sequential mode or the peristaltic compression mode is selected according the nature of the oedema and the individual symptoms.
Compression therapy is most effective when used in conjunction with other therapy modalities such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Your session may include Manual Lymphatic Drainage and pneumatic compression therapy combined to enhance the therapeutic outcome. In Lymphoedema or Lipoedema session Electrostatic Oscillation Therapy is also added if indicated, to further enhance the efficiency.
